I can confirm that pennyhq.is is working. I paid using a Amazon gift card, and I was able to download videos and files.

Support claims ISO downloads are available

@all I have no doubt that pennyhq and hqcollect have downloads for DVDs now… which is very promising news. I’m just worried that a movie listed as an 8GB ISO for example (i.e. exact untouched duplicate of original DVD disk with menus, extras, original video quality, interlacing, etc.) may end up being a 2GB MP4 (lossy compressed file of the main title only). I asked and was told it would be an ISO though so I might give the site another try and risk another $25 USD to make sure. Will report back.

My question is, in the case of a DVD9 or DVD5 file would the download be the original untouched VIDEO_TS or ISO file(s) or a “transcoded” MP4. I would only be interested in the former

@best no there are now downloadable files so a download too won’t help. That said I just checked pennyhq and support told me they had released the downloads feature. The payment page still says no downloads though so I’m nervous about potentially wasting another $25 to try to download a dvd without luck.

You cannot stream DVDs

You can stream regular videos in the browser on the website after "transcoding" but not DVDs. I don't know why the "transcode" option is available for DVD's since you literally can't do anything after the DVD is "transcoded". You can't even view it in the browser.

Not really the same

There are no downloads. You choose a video or DVD you want to see and the system converts it to an MP4 that you have to view on the site in your web browser. Content is the same but that's about it.

I feel for creators who are having their work stolen (although I was only interested in long out of print vintage DVDs) but it’s a losing battle. They keep trying to swat these sites like flies and applauding each other for it on that thread but it will never work. iTunes is what really killed Napster and Limewire and music file sharing in general, not the lawsuits. And later, Apple Music and Spotify. What is the iTunes and Spotify (legal, cheap, and convenient, and part of your regular device ecosystem) option for adult content? It doesn’t exist and never will because no large company like Apple, Google, etc. would touch that with a ten foot pole. Imagine if a $10/mo service for almost every adult video ever made from today going back 20 years, available on and synced to all your devices, existed. People would sign up in droves. The real solution is to innovate, not legislate (and organize). But neither is probably feasible for the adult industry. That said, at least in the case of HQ (which was very unique compared to tube sites and forum sites w/ file locker links), it seems like they won a battle. The war will be never-ending though.

The .is domain isn’t new

To be clear the .is website was not new. That domain always existed alongside the .net domain. Although the fact that the .is is no longer resolving doesn’t look good

@Jimmie Hopefully they are migrating over to a new site or alternate site in hqcollect.is. I do find it a little strange that they are asking for your email address. I'd rather just check the website periodically over the next few month rather than give out my email, to make sure everything is legit. I'm guessing the website should be up and running by Christmas 2023.

Seems encouraging

They seem to have been migrating from hqcollect.net to hqcollect.is over the last few months for some reason.
I would have assumed they already had the email addresses for their active members already so would inform them. Might be this is just a way to tell people to not lose hope?

For somewhat recent stuff, I found fuxp*** to be good in terms of quality of video and selection. But hqcollect had stuff going back literally to the dawn of VHS.

Jimmy - Was going to ask exactly the same thing! Looks like they had a clear playing field as it looks like there is nothing remotely close to what they did! I'm back to using torrents which is fine for recently released stuff...but older? Not so much!!

@UGH I'm assuming court didn't go well, last court hearing was July 6. I wish I could get more info however since this was filed in Arizona you have to pay to view court documents/summaries etc.

Looks like hqcollect.net is completely gone (no ping from the server any more). The Hqcollect.is server still pings though.

CP Productions runs gloryholeswallow, not to be confused with cumgloryhole. My guess is that it isn't profitable suing sites like hqcollect. I don't think they'll find the people behind hqcollect, receive compensation, or be reimbursed their legal fees... nor will it force people using hqcollect to pay for legitimate sources. But yes, it is quite frustrating how some subpar site that nobody cares about can just out of principal sue and take down sites like hqcollect.

How Do Other Sites Get Away With It?

The thing I don’t understand is if it’s this easy to take down a website why isn’t it done more. There are much more well known websites posting copyrighted material and yet they continue. I thought it was hard to do but reading this case history the plaintiffs didn’t have to do much and it was quick. It seems like all this company does is go after websites but they’re ones I’ve mostly never heard of.

@umm exactly. I don’t care about the recent stuff. They provide a large collection of great quality older videos that are almost impossible to find anywhere else. That’s all I use them for. They should come back and just stick to that. I don’t see those companies going after them when those videos aren’t making much money anymore. It won’t happen though. They’re done.

It's All But Over

@David Since there is a lawsuit against HQCollect it's highly doubtful that they are going to come back. Is it possible for HQCollect to come back, yes. Is it likely, no(IMO). With the strict laws regarding filesharing, copyright, etc it's a relatively simple case for the "CumGloryHole" people to prove. No one wants to be sued for enormous sums of money or go to jail, so it makes sense just to shut everything down. I think we are the middle/end stages of the end of filesharing sites like these as a whole.

sigh... I don't think anybody was on hqcollect to download scenes from shite site like cumgloryhole. I've never even heard of it. I was there to download old p*** movies from 90's and early to mid 2000's. It's crazy to see that hqcollect can be just taken down overnight like this. I wonder why major p*** studios never did anything if it's that easy

@Dwight I don't know, I'm not an attorney. Dave did the same in his last lawsuit with cumswallowingmovies.org. Judge demanded Namecheap to disable the blog and place a registrar lock; they never came back. I agree maybe I jumped the gun in saying it was taken down. Hqcollect is probably not based in Arizona and I don't know where their servers are either. We'll just have to see.

@edward difference is that except for hqcollect is those sites/servers were shut down. Hqcollects server still pings back. They wouldn't continue to pay for server fees if they didn't see a resurgence. I still don't understand why a copyright claim would equal to a site takedown. According to the posted docket it's a temporary takedown aka restraining order.

Yes, there is a lawsuit. However, it is nowhere near the stage where Hqcollect would have to shut down. It was just filed 6/29.

Good quality

It's not just how extensive the library is but the quality of the files. The 1080p videos are typically at the same bitrate as the original from the sites they come from. Most other places compress them to a lower bitrate to save space.

There are no better substitutes. No other site has such extensive collection.
I remember using hqcollect few years ago and it was down for a week or so, before coming back so hopefully same thing will happen.

Since it's possible to ping the server, I think it's probably a denial of service attack of some sort. But it might take them a week or two to solve the security issues. If they came back for a few hours, it probably means they are fighting the attack but don't have sufficient resources at the moment.

I really hope this is temporary

This is just my luck. It always happens like this for me. I discover this site and love it because I’m always trying to find old videos and they have a huge collection. This site is up for years and I discover it and a month later it’s over. That huge collection going to waste is terrible. Stop new videos but let them show the old stuff. Many of those companies aren’t even in business anymore and good complete copies of those videos can’t be found anywhere. Another of my favorite sites was down for 3 weeks and returned so I hope this is like that.

Why did it come back up for a few hrs?

The weird thing is it was down for a couple days and then it came back up for a few hours about 2 days ago and everything seemed okay but then it was down again. It seems like it came back up just to take my money since it was time to renew my subscription. Stupidly I did it thinking everything was fine now. I paid and a few hours later it was down again.

Can't Access Website

I have not been able to access the website, or support for 3 days. I think "big brother" is beginning to shutdown all filesharing sights like these. RARBG shutdown for good a couple of weeks ago. It was a fun ride while it lasted.

Exactly the same for me Jimmie!....web pages were loading increasingly intermitterntly then just stopped. I have raised tickets in the past and they do answer...albeit fairly vaguely. I tried to send them an email 3 days ago but it bounced back. It does seem like they are either having issues or they have finished.....watch this space!!! :(

Website down since a few days

All websites claim the site is working. So it might be a denial of service attack that prevents the webpages from loading. I started noticing slow loading of webpages a few days ago. They might be able to get their security upgraded eventually. I actually received some emails from them saying downloads were ready on June 28 and 29.
